Marilyn wines celebrated twenty years of wine making on June 1st 2006. It all began in 1985 as a playful idea, bringing together the iconic image of Marilyn Monroe and some of Napa Valley’s finest Merlot wines. Marilyn Merlot has become a legend and is now a much sought after and collectable wine.

Each vintage bears a unique label design featuring a different photograph of Marilyn Monroe. The photograph of Marilyn used on the 2004 vintage was taken by Sam Shaw and it celebrates the many sides of this 1950s glamour goddess and immortal legend.

What started out as a light-hearted approach has produced a very serious wine consisting of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Soft and ripe fruit flavours. Black fruit aromas with a little vanilla, and on the palate very soft tannins and delicate acidity with some ripe black plum and cherry fruit.
